Carmen was born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico to Benito and Albertina Laborde. She was the youngest of three children. Sister Ana Elisa Laborde is resting with her Lord. Carmen is survived by her brother Hiram Laborde.
Carmen moved with her family to the US mainland at the age of five. She attended PS 53, Jordan L. Mott JHS 22, and graduated from William Howard Taft High School in the Bronx. After graduating she attended Helene Fuld College of Nursing, which prepared her for a nursing career that spanned over 30 years.
She placed her faith in Jesus Christ first. She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and confidant. She was "Titi Booboo" and "Tia" to her nephews and niece. She was best known for her beautiful voice. She sang both in the church choir and as a popular soloist.
Carmen is survived by her brother, Hiram Laborde, (Christine); niece, Jennifer; nephews, Michael, Kenneth, Isaiah, and Mario; close cousins, Purita Gonzalez, William Vila, Elisa López-David, and King David; aunts, Pura G. Laborde de Pantoja and Ramonita Solis Vda de Sanchez; along with a host of many more relatives from the Laborde and Solis families.
