On October 31, 2024 Carol Knight passed away at the age of 85. Known as John by family and close friends, his caring attributes reminded his parent of the beloved disciple of Jesus (John the beloved) hence the origin of the affectionate name “John”.
He was a man who worked hard to take care of his family. In his early years he developed a love for real estate investment and acquisition of several properties. He was a Landlord and Property Manager while working at Ford Motor Company. He was also skilled in Bible knowledge and would recite long Bible passages and traditional hymns. All are skills acquired from his Grandpa Lois Knight.
Carol was a mentor to others with life advice and tips for living. As an optimistic person, he chose to look on the bright side of life. He would always encourage others to be their better selves.
In 1995 Carol became widowed after the passing of his dear wife Icilda Knight affectionately known as Blossom. This union produced their loving children, Fermin (Junior), Diana, Dermont, Charlene (Rose), and Curtis; grandchildren, Rayan, Michelle, Peta-Gaye, Stacy, Kason, Dishawn, Toni, Shalise, Tyler, and Shania; great-grandchildren, Laniya, Kimmani, Yahweh, Joshua, and Kyshawn; brothers, Keith and Seymore; special mention to Judith his Goddaughter and advocate, who remained by his side and Maria his daughter-in-law who fondly referred to him as “Daddy Knight”.
“Carol”, “John”, “Dad”, “Daddy-Daddy”, Daddy Knight”, “Grandpa”, and “Grand Dad” you will remain forever in our hearts.
