Gwendolyn Johnson was born after midnight on April 18, 1955 in Bronx, New York to the late Owen P. Carter and Victoria Robinson.
Gwendolyn, known as Gwen to friends and family, displayed an intellectual and creative mind. She enjoyed hobbies that brought her joy, such as reading, writing, sewing, knitting and singing.
After watching her mom work as a nurse during childhood, she aspired to become a home health aide to encourage and bring comfort to others,
Gwendolyn leaves behind three children, Clarice Johnson, Michelle Johnson and George Reid; other friends and relatives including her best friend, Shirley Nelson; thirteen nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews that she all loved very much.
