Obituary
James Matthew was born on September 24, 1944 in St. Kitts, Virgin Island to Standley Matthew and Violet Brown and from that union they produced seven children, daughters; Dallia, Rania and Belinda; sons, Joel, Robert, Carlton and Carmichael. While living in St. Kitts James attended school and when he finished he met and married his loving wife Miriam.
When he relocated to the United States, he began working as a machine operator. James liked watching boxing and other sports and also sang and played in a band in the Virgin Islands.
James was a good provider for his family and made sure they never wanted for anything. He was a wonderful dad and will truly be missed. He is predeceased by his wife, Miriam; mother, Violet Brown and father, Standley Matthew.
He leaves to mourn his treasured memories daughters, Dallia, Rania and Belinda; sons, Joel, Robert, Carlton and Carmichael; brothers, Ruel Matthew, Hubert Matthew, Alphonse Matthew and Abraham Matthew; sisters, Henrietta Nelson, Margaret Percival, Mary Simmonds, Patricia Hunter, Gweneth Eddy, Ruby Matthew, Carmen Matthew, Gwendolyn Matthew and Phillis Sanders; grandchildren, Shaneeka Buchanan, Akcitha Buchanan, Mironda Hazel Lestrade, Kevina Buchanan, Clydeshia Stapleton and Clynesia Stapleton, Irene Griffin, Luke Griffin, Jacob Griffin; greatgrandchildren, Tarianna Lestrade, Mikayla Lestrade, Azariah Southwell, Joel Matthew, O’Brian Huggins, Brianna Jeffers, Kayla Jeffers, Joevin Jeffers, Naseem Gerald, Karianna Gerald, Kirianna Jeffers, Leondre Wattley and Deniqua Jeffers and a host of other relatives and close friends.
