Larry Johnson was born in Harlem Hospital in Harlem, New York to parents, Rochelle Johnson and Larry Williams. He was raised in the Bronx, New York and attended elementary and junior high school in the Bronx and graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School.
In 2003 Larry married Geraldine Williams. Although the marriage did not last, they still remained friends. He enjoyed playing basketball, playing cards, dancing, and hanging out with family and friends. When we would have barbeques, he was always the life of the party. He would be playing cards at the card table and when he heard one of his favorite songs, he was up dancing because he loved to dance. Larry also liked to play the scratch off games you could find him doing that often. He was a good person and would help others. He really enjoyed having a good time with the ones he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rochelle Johnson and Larry Williams; daughter, Lisa Whitmore; and brother, Guy Overton.
Larry leaves behind two children, his daughter Susan Johnson and his son Larry Johnson Jr.; grandson, Messiah Johnson; wife, Geraldine Williams-Johnson; three step-children; sister, Lisa Williams; brothers, Allen Overton, Ronald Overton, and Sharif Overton along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
