Margaret C Rice

Margaret C. Rice affectionately known as "M&M" transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, December 29th, 2024 at Lincoln Hospital, Bronx NY.

Margaret was born on March 9th, 1952 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Emanuel Clarke and her namesake Margaret Rice Clarke.

Margaret (M&M), began her education in Roanoke, Virginia where she received most of her education until moving to the Bronx where she graduated from James Monroe High School. She lived in the same building in the Bronx at 1408 Webster Avenue for forty-five years. In that time she became well respected and popular in her neighborhood by feeding people and helping in any way possible. She worked as a Receptionist and a Maitre d’ for a few years until she retired in 2008.  She spoke her mind and feared no one but loved everyone. She had a heart of gold. If you were fortunate enough to have known her personally, she left an impression on you for a lifetime.

She had a passion for cooking and gambling. She did not allow anyone to go with her to gamble but would send you a picture of her winning and she would rather make the food for you than share her recipes. She eventually shared her recipes for her famous cornbread and baked macaroni and cheese with her daughter-in-law and granddaughter’s fiance. She used to joke with them by asking for her cut whenever they told her they made it for a friend's party or event. She also loved listening to music and having an occasional drink with her peers. Her favorite drink was 99 Bananas. She loved to dress and style her hair, which was another passion of hers. She was loved by many and will be missed tremendously by all.

She cherished her only child Keith E Robinson and adored her two granddaughters Lynette and Kelia Robinson and three great-grandchildren. She also loved to travel back to Roanoke, VA for childhood purposes and to see friends she grew up with in Virginia while spending time with her family who still reside in Roanoke.

She leaves to mourn her only child, Keith "Jug" Robinson (Bronx, NY); two siblings brother, Timothy "Stimey" Clarke (Bronx, NY) and sister, Gail Jones (Roanoke, VA) two granddaughters, Lynette Robinson (New York, NY) and Kelia Robinson (Bronx, NY); three great-grandchildren (New York, NY); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She joins her other siblings in Heaven brothers, Leon Winbush (Roanoke, VA), Cavanagh "Champ" Clarke (Bronx, NY); and sister, Sharon Straus (Roanoke VA).
