McKinley Clayton was born January 2, 1930 to the proud parents McKinley and Alice Clayton in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was one of three children.
He was educated in the Philadelphia school system. Shortly after high school, McKinley married Marguerite Grant and from this union they had one daughter.
McKinley served 34 years as a Merchant Seaman on the ship The Golf Craft. After his wife died, he met Mary Douglas both being widowers, they developed a special relationship that lasted over 30 years until his death. He was a loving, caring, and protective person especially to Mary and always looked out for her.
McKinley is predeceased by his wife, Marguerite, his daughter, and sister, Marvelene Gregory.
McKinley leaves to cherish his memory, his companion, Mary Douglas, Bronx NY; one brother, Philadelphia; Mary’s two children, Frederick and Fredricka; many nieces, nephews, cousins in Philadelphia other relatives and friends.
