On Friday, April 9, 2021, Nakeisha Aiona Veal, loving mother of two children, niece, aunt, granddaughter, and sister passed away at the age of 46. Nakeisha was born on December 29, 1974 to the late Bobby Aguillard and David Sanders. “Keisha” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was raised in the Bronx, New York. She attended PS 60 Elementary School and IS 98 Herman Ridder Middle School. She graduated from Taft High School in 1992.
Keisha met her children’s father Roy Jones in 1992. Her whole life changed when she gave birth to her first pride and joy Le’roy in 1994. Ten years later she gave birth to her second pride and joy Klijah. She raised her children in Harlem, New York. She did any and everything for her handsome son Le’roy and beautiful daughter Klijah and loved spending quality time with her children taking them to various places and restaurants. Keisha started working for New York City Housing Authority in 2001 until 2019.
She was a blessing not just to her family and friends, but also to those around her. Keisha had a passion for dancing, music and just having fun. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was also known for her quick wit and her infectious smile and kind and compassionate spirit.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bobby; father, David; brother, Ryan; uncle, Clyde; and cousin, Divine.
Keisha is survived by her son, Le’roy; daughter, Kalija; sisters, Taisha and Latoya; brothers, David, Stedroy and Bobby; grandmother, Aoina; uncle, Darrin; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
