Life Reflections

On Saturday January 4, 2020 God in his infinite Love and Wisdom called home Oscar W.. Greene affectionately known as “Lil Bro” by family to that place which He has prepared for him; Oscar departed this life at Montefiore Medical Center Bronx, New York.

On July 25, 1935 Oscar was the second born to the late George Nelson and Willie Gertrude Green in Swan Quarter North Carolina. In 1952 he graduated from Hyde County Training School Scranton North Carolina and enlisted in the Army of United States of America. Later he migrated to Brooklyn New York and worked at New York Medical Center then was employed by New York City Transit Authority as a Bus Operator and retired as such. He loved life, socializing and having fun. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend and will be truly missed.

Oscar is predeceased by his parents George Nelson and Willie Gertrude Green and brother Oliver W. Green.

He leaves to cherish his memory son Keris Greene, daughter Keratasha Greene aunt LeArneta Greene, nieces Deirdre Luster and Andrea Green, two grandchildren Karia K.’ehlani Greene and Amaya Amiri Greene. His Family in Love Petra Nowlin, Tishana Nowlin, Bishara Nowlin, An’ron Nowlin, GiGi Nowlin, Denise Townsend and a host of family and friends so extensive we cannot name all.

In tears we saw you sinking and watched you fade away, Our hearts were almost breaking we wanted you to stay. 

But when we saw you sleeping so peaceful and free from pain, how could we wish you back to suffer that again.

It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you Home.
