Otis A. Amoako, the son of Marquita Madden and Paul Amoako was born on August 11th 1981 in Brooklyn New York. Otis is the second born of three children. He attended elementary school at P. S. 20 in Brooklyn New York where he was well known as the boy who was extremely smart yet busy and hyperactive. He was so busy his teachers would ask his mother to come and sit with him. At the age of 11, Otis moved to West Africa, Ghana where he was able to adapt to their culture and was favored by the members of the community. As you can see, Otis has been leaving memorable impressions on the lives of individuals since he was a pre-teen.
Otis is well known for his kind and giving heart, his King-like and determined personality and his unfiltered statements. Otis was also well known for how he dressed. He wore the most stylish jersey’s, fitted caps, and matching sneakers. Otis made himself to be that straightforward person who spoke his truths. Nevertheless, he was always the turn to guy who would put others before himself.
He leaves us with many funny, lovable and extraordinary memories to cherish. Especially amongst his friends, family, and the random strangers he was willing to help. He will always be remembered as the elevator man who will not take anyone’s nonsense for a ride. He is now our beacon of light that will forever shine in the skies watching over us.
Otis leaves to cherish his love, life, and legacy; his three children, Amare Amoako, Mahki Amoako, and Kyrie Amoako; wife, Shantel Chambers; mother, Marquita Dawson-Madden; two siblings, Davone Dawson, LaToya Amoako; Elvis Amakye, Pauline Amoako, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, Step-Mom, and friends.
Now that God has called him home, let’s reflect on the wonderful time God shared his love and life with us and continue to keep Otis in our hearts.
