We gather here today to share the life and death of Ronald Thompson, also known as “Tank, Ronnie and Ron”.
Ronald Thompson, was born on November 16, 1949 to Edith and Robert Thompson and passed away on March 1, 2021 after his battle with cancer. He was one of seven children, four who preceded him in death, Robert Jr., William, Linda and Gary.
He was a loving and caring son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, cousin nephew and friend. Ron earned a Bachelor’s Degree from John Jay College and also worked in construction until he retired.
Ronald leaves behind his loving wife, Shelby Thompson who loved him dearly; five children first born son, Ronald Valdez, Shane Blue, Ronald Blue, Ronette Thompson and Sanaa Thompson; sisters, Christine and Cynthia; six grandchildren, Elyssa Blue, Shion Blue, Jaydin Blue, Jayde Jones, Rylee Davy and Ronisha Valdez; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins along with friends who were like extended family that will miss him dearly.
Ronald fought a good fight until his death and has now been handed over to the care of God, he was never alone.
In the words of Robert Thompson, Sr., “Let Peace Be Still” this is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and give him peace.
